A night to remember.

That night my father, my mother and my sisters and I went to this fancy restaurant out in the city. We had to drive almost an hour and a half to get there. When we got there I see familiar faces, my friends from college. They throw a party after the mid-semester exam. And I have no idea about it. Nice.

So we went on and order our food and drinks. We chit chatted about college, my sister’s exam results which went straight downhill from the beginning, and random stuff. But it was a night to remember. Although not the way we always want a night to be remembered.

Just when I got up from my seat to go to the washroom, someone screamed.

“Someone just got stabbed in the toilet ! Run ! There’s a killer on the loose !,”

What the heck was that, I said to myself. I thought it was part of their party thing so I went to look in the toilet. And there it was. A boy was stabbed and sat on the toilet’s floor. It was horrifying I almost faint. Blood pretty much the star of the scene. Outside, the crowd were hurrying to get off from the diner and starts running to their cars. I backed away, search for my family at our table. They were not there. Of course but are they seriously gone without me?

I went out and I saw my father and my mother in the car but not my sisters. I ran to car and they told me my sisters has join my group of friends into their van which has left. Just when I got in the car someone jumped in also. Deryck, one of my classmates.

“Sara, I really need a ride. Can I just jump in with you guys?”

He looks scared and somewhat pale. I thought he was really afraid since he is very new here. He just moved in with his uncle from I don’t really remember where. So I said it’s okay and off we go.

In the car I was relieved. I kept looking back if someone or the killer actually follows one of us who saw the murder. It would not be logical anyway since we were all scattered away and there were many of us. The killer may have already someone in mind to be his next victim. Or her.

Deryck who sat next to me was being very quiet. He just stare at window and when he realize I was looking at him, he looks at me. Smiling. I was happy because maybe I just save him from all the commotion. He looks like someone I could trust.

We finally reach a mall area. It was already morning so we can see few cars on the road. I felt safe. Thanks to my father who drives all night. We made a stop at the parking lot and I got out from the car to see if there is anyone I can tell about what happened last night. there was nobody yet because the mall usually opens in another an hour.

But when I get back into the car I saw my father and my mother was unconscious. Blood drips from both of their foreheads. I was shocked. Deryck was not there. No my father and my mother could not be dead, not now. As I walked away from the car, Deryck shows up. Grinning. Holding the most shiny butcher knife I ever seen. There was a sign of blood being wiped off from the stainless steel he was holding.

note: this story actually happens in my dreams and i got the chance to wrote it out because i can actually remember it. dreams can be pretty funny and stupid but this one got to me because it send a little chill down my spine. hahahaha. idk. i just thought it would be a great intro to an horror movie. maybe. if i can direct it.
